    Trichomes on Purple Buds

I have two CBD strains about to finish. They're both autoflowers and "should" finish in about 65 days from sprout. I did top and LST so I add a week to the timeline even though they're autos and chug along. Not expecting that to be 100% spot on but close. They're both at 63 days now so I wanted to check for actual ripeness and holy purpleness! I think they're mostly cloudy right now but don't want to short them on the final push as they're literally very short. Looking for amber seems a fools errand as everything reflects the deep purple.

So, the question is whether anyone that has grown a purple strain has a tip or two on reading them?

I have a new light arriving this week and would like to drop a bean today on a longer version auto (about 80 days) and then two more standard time ones in two weeks which should get them close to the same finish. I have a Northern Lights Auto running that was theoretically a 60 day grow and is at day 49 from sprout now.. Looks more like 80 or a little more. Since the cbd girls are so small I need to get more going and my space is 3 x 3 so limited in what I can do.

I'm going to try the loupe and cell phone trick and get a photo up shortly.

The heads are purple too? I've had the stalks get purple on me, but the heads were still a shade of color that I could distinguish the amber / milky / clear.

I've grown several purple-dark strains, before and had the trich stems an the heads both purple, on several of the plants.
When mine get close they quit drinking as much water as they did, an if you watch the flowers real close, you can normally tell when they quit swelling up, so you pretty much know you are in the harvest window, plus I grow mine in living soil, and I also go by the fading of the plants leaves.
It can be hard on your first few grows with the purple-dark strains to tell when they are the way you want them, but after seeing some of your grows, you will be able to tell easily after a couple of more grows with the pretty colored stains.
I've not grown a CBD, plant yet, so I don't know, but I've grown several of the dark strains before, and they will all get you a good buzz, but not strong enough for around our house ,but they are pretty as hell though, even if not very potent.

Oh yeah, I've grown a good many Northern Lights autos to ,but mine came from Nirvana, and I have yet to have one be ready by day 90, they were all super slow finishers, but they all grew into huge plants, the most i ever got from an automatic was a NLights, that I got just a couple of grams short of 8ozs, dry bud. Still is some of our favorite smoke, they all smelled like pineapple too. Really nice smoke
      too.

Well, lucky us...power outage while taking the pics, or rather trying to. Only about 15 minutes and thankfully rare around here but now to all of the damned clocks and stuff. Anyway, thanks for the quick shouts gang. I had the wife assist and get her eyes on this as well as hold the light. I know these are hideous pics. I'm calling mostly cloudy from what I can decipher. The heads are purple on some and I saw amber on very few.

One of these has been a bear right from seed and the other just quietly went about its business. Won't be half an ounce between them but meds is meds.

The NL auto was going to be left to do the Christmas tree thing but it grew so fast I topped her and have been stretching her out. I even defoliated it like a photo a few days ago and it didn't even flinch, just kept on growing.
