    Please, help me shop!

Greetings all, and special thanks to Nebula Haze for enabling such a fine community.

I am new to this all (again), last time I grew was in 1983 in my closet, much has changed (yay decriminalization). I read all the tutorials here, on Bergmans Lab, and the Growing Elite pdf. I have concluded that GWE is all I need (the technical and security info in Growing Elite is pretty good too, not sorry I bought it.). So i'm staying here.

I ordered White Widow seeds (medical, pain management) from ILGM but I heard some bad rumors so I also ordered from Nirvana as backup. I spoke to some staff at a local Brew & Grow and he suggested Coco because I can't do 'ponics where I live. I can only grow 5 plants so I was thinking a 300w MarsHydro LED in either a 24"x48"x60" or 24"x30"x67" tent. I would like to grow girls at least 4'. What thinkest thou?

I like Cyco Platinum Coco 3 parts coco to 1 part perlite, GH trio nutrients .
Note: white Widow can grow beautifully- if you grow just one of her she will yield well..in my opinion
Indoor- Coco coir & Perlite - 5 gal Smart pots
    Veg-T5s Flower- Platinum LEDS
GH Flora Trio Cali-mag, Terpinator Liquid Bloom
    photoperiod feminized seeds

Agree on white widow (my first grow). Even under CFLs it grew huge and super bountiful (actually had 3 harvests from same plant!) 🌻

    Do they crowd too much?

Depends on hou you train them IMHO. My concern would be do you have enough light to service all?
I had a bout with poor planning and let mine get to big/mature so had to pick one...think I was in a 5x5
Had to destroy 6 and that was a bad day. Anyway it took me most of the day to trim out one plant (harvest).
      A great lady I think.

4' plants too tall for that size tent you need air gap plus rigging of light. If you are growing in a tent why can't you do hydro..just asking ....I use coco loco so am not trying to sway you to hydro..just curious.

I take it you can only go two foot wide with tent?

I have a 3x3x6 tent with ten plants in it. Very crowded!!!
I am going with 3 next time. And will probly yield the same....hopefully.

you will need to do some major plant training either way.

As far as your light you are considering..I know nothing of leds. I have a 315 lec. I do suggest you get that for you 2' tent!!!

Green75 how tall do u let them get? I have a 6' tall and run hydro. They get about 3.5 tall I usually do 4 in a 4x4 tent or 8 in a 4x8

My current grow my seedlings stretched way more than my clones, tripled in size matter of fact I was not expecting that they are pushing 4 feet now the stretches quit now they're just
          Fattening up.

My new goal for all my future grows is to have a plant no more than 3 foot

Running pumps plus the lights and filter would make too much vibration, I'm in an apartment.

Thanks for feedback, I will start 5 and juice all but 1 or 2, probably be easier on odor control too.

Bummer. I love the fast growth in hydro. Better off planing for long gevity and stealth in an apartment tho. Ain't much worse than a neighbor calling a landlord (or worse) cause of some vibration noise

Your last grow sounds like when I did last! The early 80's! You need at least a 4x4x80 tent for 5 plants and that will be packed full when flowering! Plus, one light of that size won't be enough either. I started with a 2x4, then a 4x4, then a 4x8x80. I didn't plan on all this at the start. I too was gobbling up all the info I could find and settled in here! Good luck with your grow!

Congrats on the renewed hobby Weedgrodamus

I agree that you might not have enough light. I have an advanced platinum P300 LED in a 2'x4'x7' tent. I've needed to add a 90W flowering UFO and a cheap 150W full spectrum UFO to try and beef up my light coverage and intensity (admittedly the P300's double lenses create a very tight light footprint).

I have grown 4 plants in 2 gallon smartpots of coir in that space, but right now I have just 2 plants in 3 gallon pots and they're really filling out the whole tent.
I have a very lanky sativa going right now (about 45" currently) and it's been a real challenge to keep it far enough away from the LEDs even with LST, topping, and super cropping.
Sand, sea, sun, sausages, and sinsemilla.

About all you can do in life is be who you are. Some people will love you for you. Most will love you for what you can do for them, and some won't like you at all.

Agreed about the light, Tika , Aaron and Green75 suggested I do only 1 or 2 girls with my space.
I purchased a 20x24x62 and the 300w MarshydroLED, I am planning on one of these:

For Vegging (and flowering insurance) I am going to put the blue light on a timer AND a battery backup so any power failure wont trigger flowering. Is this light good for that?
