    Newbie slow growing

hi my name is steve and i came across this sit e by accident but liked it. Anyway my set up is hydro 3 plants 20ltr buckets,5" net pots. really good aeration. a 1000w sunlight dual light running at 660w at the moment, i`m using canna hydro A+B VEGA. this is my 3rd grow on hydro and i enjoy growing this way as i found it far less work than soil. ( i`m 62 so find this is easier ) I also have heaters in the buckets to maintain a 22c temp.

the problem ive got is that the plants are 3 nearly 4 weeks and there hardly growing about 8 - 12" the room temp is around 20c - 25c dropping about 10c at night hence the heaters in the buckets. whether it is the temp in room i don`t know but this is my first winter grow iv`e also got an 8" I MAX FAN and a scorpion filter.

    Welcome to the forum,
What is the pH of the water (with the nutrients) in the tank? It is recommended to keep it at 6.0 (+/- .5). Can you post any photos?

Hi Fink, and welcome to the forum! 8-12" doesn't seem bad to me; how do the roots look and what's the strain?

BTW, there are TONS OF 60-something growers on this forum (myself included). Look for the How old are you thread: it's great!!!

thanks guys for the welcome PH is good at 5.8 -6.0 i've got two sensi skunk and 1 northern light. I grew both before but it was summer months. I looked at them today and they seem to be doing better i think this is due to keeping water temp even 22c I only introduced the heaters a couple of days ago. So i shall see how they develop I must say they are looking nice and green. Once i figure out how to use forum properly i shall post pics. I only took over growing from my son early last year he was growing in soil and I wanted to try hydro so he told me to get on with it, and fairdos I really enjoy it. If i take my time i can manage to do most of it myself.

I`M woking towards automating as much as i can but its not cheap. I have a friend in wales who plays alot with gear called arduino it`s making electronic things to do all sorts of tasks really interesting but i can`t be arsed to try and learn it.
