My mind is saying several things what’s wrong.
but with literally no info about your setup it’s hard to know..

    PH levels ?
soil - which kind ? Do you have perlite or leca mixed in the soil?
how big is the pot ?
nutrients used ? When and how much ?
supplements - any cal mag used for example?
Just because people are over 50 doesn’t mean they know everything.
You can teach a old dog new tricks - But it will still think the old ways are the “best” lol

I don't see much perlite but you say it's there. Does that soil mix have nute suppliments in it ? Looks lacking in N to me.

Like the Captain said are you using any calcium/magnesium ? They need minerals and a light airy soil mix with LOTS of drainage perlite helps prevent nute lockout also dense soil no air locks in. But i think your soil is the issue and if it's so hot how would you feel sitting in it for over 8hrs a day? Plants are like people almost the same needs in my book.

Look under the leaves with a strong magnifying glass or hand lens. It looks like you may have spider mites. Treat with neem oil and pyrethrin. Use full strength nutrients and also use the Cal Mag or some Epsom salts (1 teaspoon per gallon of water)
