Anyone have an idea what kind of bug this is? Is it friend or foe?

Maybe a leaf hopper or mealy bug. If so, they are not good bugs.If you bend you will be less likely to break. -
If it's not a ladybug - then I savagely eradicate the bug - sometimes taking out a few leaves in the extermination.3 X 3 gorilla. Promix soil . Green Planet Nutes

It appears to be a small stegosaurus. Probably eats like a small stegosaurus as well, and therefore not good for your plants
