hey just searching for some creative solutions for temp control in a tent. Have a 4x8x7tall tent with 1000w on a mover. Have carbon scrubber on an inline exhaust fan going thru a hood and an ac on a thermostat but still run a tad warmer than I would like with the hps bulb. Any have any creative ideas?

I would vote for the Air Cooled Hood over the Cool Tube Hood because of the size of the reflector. Plus you have to periodically clean the glass in the hood and I think that would be a pain if vent tubes are attached to the hood. On a air cooled hood you simply slide out the glass. My $.02

Wasn't feeling good this morning so I ate some toast and tea and went back to bed. I just got up and find my bleeping husband sound asleep on the couch. We've been running a small heater in the garage overnight, outside of the tent, because temps have been dipping pretty low. Our plants sleep from 6 pm to 6 am. We always unzip top portion of tent everyday depending on temp, some days just about a foot, other days about three feet. Tent height is 70".
Anyway, I go out to garage and I'm hit with a heat wave. Temp inside tent was 93F. Even during hottest part of summer we never got over 88F. Been two days since watering so they needed it anyway. Turned off heat source, turned on a fan to blow into tent, and gave the girls a big drink of water.
I am assuming plants, especially mature ones can survive a day of spiked heat, but still, now I know I can't be sick and go back to bed. grrrrrrrr
FYI - I do love my bleeping husband. lolLast edited by insomniaczzz; 10-17-2016, 01:30 PM.

I had issues today. Heat wave in my area. Normal mornings have been 45- inside grow- 78- today it was 60- and spiked to 80 outdoors resulting in 90s in my tent! AGH. I had just done insulation and more insulation and do so much work to counter the winter that IS coming.... now im installing more exhaust fans today to balance the room. Since its no longer a smaller controlled environment that im working with, adjustments are par for the course

Insomniaczzz- just a thought with that heater they make these little plug in thermostats that have a cord probe you can drop in your tent. You set the dial and plug it into the wall then plug your heater into it. Kicks it on and off automatically to whatever you set it at. Works for ac too. I think they are called c.a.p. Temp.1 boxes. I run them they work great. You'll never have to worry about watching it again. They are a little pricey but they are plug and play and convenient as hell
