- Hi all, I'm new to growing and had a question I hope to get some help with.
A few months back a friend gave me a few seedlings that were in small plastic cups. I began researching on how to take care of them. I learned a lot from youtube, so I created my a new medium to transplant the seedlings to - coco coir and perlite. I buffered the coco using Cal-mag and began feeding the Coco Canna A and B products.
Being new to all of this I later learned that the coco medium and liquid nutrients are more designed for hydro/indoor growing ?
I am strictly outdoor planting.
So for a few weeks I fed the liquid nutrients tot the plants in the back yard (in 3 gallon containers). Just a few days ago I transplanted into new 5 gallon containers using a mix of 33% coco, 33% perlite, and 33% horse manure.
My question is, do I still continue to feed the liquid nutrients? Or should I stop because there's now manure in there. Also, I read the rainwater is bad for coco plants since it will flush out the nutrients. Is this still the case?
Thanks for any advice/feedback!

A mix of hot soil (organic/compost/manure) and nutrients isn't advised. You should usually plan out your feeding regime, so as not to overwhelm the medium with nutrients. Watch your plant. Your plant will tell you everything you need to know. If she's happy, she'll stand tall and tell you! If she's sick, you'll notice her show it. I would go with just plain rainwater or water for a little while. say 3-4 waters. Now that you've added that manure, its probably gonna get a bit hot. I'm experimenting outdoors with this right now. I have one goliath plant in a 5 gal pot(soil from veg composter and some old coco/perlite from previous grow) fed with fish poop water only.. Another in 3 gal fabric pot coco/perlite(rainwater only) and a third, bumped up to a little bigger container, waiting for its new owner to pick this thing up.ffs. in coco/perlite/compost- fed with fish poop water. She isnt liking it so far.very droopy .lol. Just go easy for a couple of waters..it'll let you know if its happy or not.1 PhotoShappel S3000 3.5x6x6' ice hut

I hope the horse shit was aged and not fresh, you can expect weeds to grow from it also, watch the PH I see nothing in your mix to control the PH and the only nutrient is the horse shit. I will say read up on making organic soil, you need more than poo and rocks!
Welcome to GWE, check out this thread, I am growing organic outside.
It is spring in the northern hemi, time to get things growing. These pics from yesterday morning after transplanting the day before, sun was just up. Here we have a BB3, GG4, DGD and SSK, I have 2 more that go here, and 6 more for the GF. As I get the soil built, and the plants moved into it, I will get pics of them.
