380 Wattage- in full spectrum. I was just talking about the model 🤦🏼

You got 400watts, at the wall, not 900watts.
Vipar 450s, are 200actual watts.

I've been flowering with one V450 in a 1 meter sq. tent for a little over a year. I have finished 4 different strains. Some strains handle the light being close better than others. I can never keep them as far away as recommended. I originally planned on two of them but have reconsidered that. Your post has helped me on this. Have a great grow !!

I Can feel it too. But i mean then its way too close for the plants. Because of the bright lights they plants are getting.

You said you keep your lights as far away as possible...how far are we talking about? I run 2 Viperspectra 600's and always run closer than manufacturers specs. Your 450's recommend 24" for Veg and 18 for flower. Are you closer than 18 inches?

Agreed. Light is Too close.
just as a side note, if the light consumes watts of electricity... then it produces heat. If you are not feeling any heat, it’s probably because it’s a low watt light.

I use 2 450 vipar and from the sounds of it your light is to close to top of canopy.

The hand test is pretty much impossible with a LED lamp, most of them will produce no heat - but it’s the bright light that makes them burn.
If I hade the hand test on my LED I could lower it just above my canopy - and then it will absolutely burn the whole bunch..

Good clear pics in normal light will help a lot. Your description sounds like light burn (stick your hand under the light to feel the heat from it), move the light further from the plant/s.

Do you have any kind of pictures ?
i have a viparspectra 900R - and it’s doing fine for my plants. Have it about 23 inches away from my canopy.

I grow using the bubbleponics technique. I started with cfl’s and had good results. The last three grows I switched to leds using the Viparspectra 450watt LEDs. I use two lights for two plants. Since using the led’s my plants have been turning brown like the are dried out, but have plenty of water. There is no heat from the lights and I keep them as far away as possible,Is 900w too much light and should I cut back to just one fixture? I never had a problem with the cfl’s.Tags: None
