White spots and yellowing tips/spots, twisted growth. HELP! #newbie

Can someone please help me identify what’s wrong with my plants? I’m a total newbie to this and so I’ve been reading a lot on Growweedeasy website and on this forum but I think that at this point I’m just lost. I first noticed some white stuff on the top leaves, it looked like webs, I then noticed twisted leaves coming in, then yellowing of the tip of the top leaves, now there’s more yellowing to the top leaves and this morning I noticed a whole in 1 leaf. I thought it was a nutrient deficiency so I bought Fox Farm products, I then thought it was a bug problem like a broad mite, so I used Neem oil. Nothings working 😭 Pics here: https://imgur.com/a/vjMN9lJ

Actually a pretty nice looking plant for the first.
the twisted grow can also maybe indicate some root problems. Or under/over watering.
what is your PH levels? In your water feeding for example.
The white spot could be mold, but it’s hard to see clearly.
what is the humidity in your tent ?

Did the twisted growth occur after you sprayed for bugs? That could have caused it. I had an outdoor grow one time and ants had got into it and when I killed the ants, I made my plants curl up like that for a few days. I tried to remove the excess ant killer and flush the soil out with water and it cleared up after a few days. That might be what's going on there. It also could be an issue with pH or watering like CaptainWiese91 mentioned.

Yes it did, everything happened after I sprayed for bugs the first time. I just checked the ph in the soil and its a little over 7. Do you think I should try to flush them and see if that works? Or should I try to lower the ph level 1st? Thanks for your help btw 🙂

Well, if you flush first then level off the pH you will remove any negative stuff that could be causing the twisted growth but you also risk over-watering. I would basically try to pH the water then flush them with the pH'ed water for a day or so. You could also try adding nutrients but with the other chemicals present, they may not absorb. I'm not sure about that part. And if you have spider mites, try your best to get on top of them now. I had them in my last hydro grow and there were tons because I caught it too late. I ended up having buds with dead mites in them. Yuck!

CaptainWiese91 thank you 😊 I’m not watering all that much unless the dirt is drying up, which is about every other day sometimes it could be 2 days in between watering but never daily. The white stuff looks like a tiny web in some leaves and like string in others. I looked at the leaves w a microscope and saw a few tiny red/white spots on the leaves. Im thinking they’re bugs 🤷🏽‍♀️

PH levels in the feeding water are at 6.5 and humidity in the tent is at 48%, temp is at 77. I hadn’t checked the PH level in the soil in a couple of days, I just did and it’s a little over 7.

I’m thinking spider mites? But I’ve never had them myself, so I can’t just tell you the exact problem with the white stuff on the leaves :/
little over 7 it’s too high for the soil. Some nutrients can get picked up by the roots. maybe lower your water feeding to 6,2-6,3

I was thinking the same but wasn’t sure. I will certainly try to lower the ph level. Thank you so much! 👍🏽

Like the Cap'n i think spider mites. Your description is almost textbook definition. https://www.growweedeasy.com/cannabi...f-spider-mites
Also agree with the Cap'n that your ph is too high and also agree with his recommendations!

Unfortunately spider mites (AKA the BORG) are a big issue and sometimes can be the cause for entire crops being decimated. I have never had them but have read many users on here that have fought them with varying levels of success (or failure). There are several posts on the forum and tutorials on the website that would be more helpful than i could.

Other than that they look pretty good!

Thank you so much!! Everything that I read in regards to the white stuff pointed to the spider mites and so I treated them for it and after a week or so the other symptoms started to show. I will continue to do more research 🤓

And don’t hesitate to come back and ask for help !👍🏻
The thing I’m here for is just helping others.
I don’t care so much about showing my grow and other stuff, but I really like to help other people.
I didn’t know this forum when I started - I made all possible mistakes you could in my many first grows. Only way I learned so much
