    HELP! Small foliage

    Hi,
My plant is about a month old and I've noticed smaller foliage growing underneath the 5 and 7 bladed leaves as you can see in the picture. Is this normal behavior? It seems to be branches shooting out

i'm not sure i understand the question. If you are referring to the nodes then yes it is normal and that is where your bud grows. Ideally you want to grow those out into an even canopy if you are indoors (outdoors it doesnt really matter as much). Imo that plant looks stunted for a month. That could be for many reasons but without more info it's impossible to tell. I would get rid of the large leaves blocking the new growth and start training it unless it is an auto.

Thanks for the reply. I'll try to rephrase - below the 7 bladed leaves, there is smaller sets of leaves growing. I found this odd because I thought cannabis grew from the bottom up (growing new leaves only ABOVE the older leaves) I've provided a better picture for you to see. And with it being stunted, I'm not sure why it is. I'm using a 300W LED about 15 inches away, with balanced pH. It grows a good amount of foliage each day though.

Ok i understand what you are saying now, though i must be blind cause i cant really see what you are referring to but i believe it's there. It could just be a mutation. I've had some weird looking plants that turned out fine. Also, on the stunted thing what medium are you growing in? I may have assumed that it was coco cause ive been answering some questions about coco today lol. If it's soil then it may not be stunted as soil tends to grow a little slower. I would start training and trying to get those nodes spread out and even-ish.

Just an FYI some reasons for stunted plants that i have experienced are not buffering/charging the coco if you use a coco/perlite medium and starting the plant in too large of pot. It may not be stunted, sometimes pictures can be a little deceiving and my eyesight is just getting worse lol.

Yes I'm using a soil medium, no coco. I plan to tie down the lower branches as I've seen others do to encourage a flat canopy, I just don't want to hurt them being this young.

Ok then just forget about the stunted thing. It's probably fine and chillin'! Just keep an eye on the weird growth but if it looks like normal foliage, just in a weird place then its probably fine
