    Newbie looking for advice

Hi all, new to the community and growing. Thank you for all your contributions to the craft!

i ordered my first light for my first indoor grow. I went with California light works solarxtreme 1000 led. Link below.

California LightWorks has been dedicated to designing and manufacturing the highest performing indoor LED grow lights on the market for sale.

im wondering if this light will successfully take plants to flower in a 5x5 as advertised. My research indicates it would be better suited for 4x4. I’ve read that it’s 800 true watts and even then would only run at about 640 watts. Please advise!

I would love the extra room. If it’s more suitable for a 4x4, is there anything wrong with getting a 5x5 and only keeping the plants in the 4x4 footprint so I can utilize the extra room?

    any advice is appreciated.

bonus points for a tent recommendation!!

    thank you in advance

That looks like a Top. Notch. Light. Right there. You would be happy using that in a 5x5. Lots of light for that tent. I think these are good quality tents. But I'm sure others will have suggestions as well. I'd go with the 5x5 just for the extra space weather you use the full 5x5 or not.
when they say 6.6 amps that's usually 660 watts so I don't know where their math gets them to the 800 range but good for them. You'll like that light. I tell people starting out to get the best they can afford so their not disappointed and stuck buying more add-ons later.
Vegging 4 aurora indica, waiting on seeds. Got eyes on a 4x8x8 tent.
    sp150x2 philz330 and Philz 100x2
    4 plants currently under 500w
    2 x opulent systems 4x4x80 tents and a 24x40x48 baby box.
GH full line of nutes+calmag and my molasses sugar brown sugar liquid mix at 30ml per liter.
    Happy growing/consuming 🥴

      Hey Jordann!

thanks for the response, advise, and confidence boost! Lol

I used an online calculator/converter and my electrical engineer friend who both confirmed right around 800 watts at 6.6A 120V DC

but to your point, I’ve heard the LEDs don’t run at max current (please anyone correct me if I’m wrong) and I should expect around what you previously stated 640-660w.

I'm not sure about that light but I have one stated 150 and it draws 160 and one stated 330 that draws 310 with the meter so I guess they all vary.
