    Lighting

Has anyone tried viparspectra led lights thinking of switching to led an wanna know if there worth the money.

I haven't but many here have used them with success, I'm sure they'll start chiming in soon. I have some similar Bestva blurple LEDs and they work fine but they're not fantastic.

I've been using a Viparspectra 450 for almost 1 year. It grows pot. I wouldn't brag about it but for the money it's good.

I have never really been able to weigh a full grow because of small fires. Probably at least 4 oz. per plant. Depends on the strain. Smoke a bunch of pot around here.

Fuck that sucks man an ha ya we smoke lots up here to but that's pre good cuz I'm getting 3.5-5 oz a plant so basically the led will do the same but less power which what I was hopin for

I've never used them but a buddy of mine on another site has. He had problems with it not working while still under warranty and had incredible difficulty with the company to honor the warranty or even reply to his emails and calls. He finally diagnosed and repaired himself (driver) but has nothing good to say about the lights or company and would not recommend them to anyone. That is my second hand experience, sorry, and for what it is worth if I were you I would look into HLG lights. In my opinion you will get the best bang for your buck. Good luck!

I can also recommend the HLG. I used their 100 watt board for my first grow and got 4+ ozs from a single plant. Very vigorous growth.

Bengfan I ordered an HLG 550 r and I sent it back because of poor quality. The company never responded to my emails either.

I've had success with ViparSpectra and have found that, to date, they are the only LED manufacturer that has some models that are government certified safe (UL, CSA, ETL). As mentioned on many other posts I believe any electrical item that generates heat and is left turned on a minimum of 12 hours per day should have rigorous safety testing.

Ironically almost every LED panel sold on Amazon (just one of many examples) have no government approved safety certification. Amazon's own policy states that any seller on the "Marketplace" is required to meet these safety standards. Unfortunately for consumers, Amazon doesn't enforce the policy because they make money from every sale. It's fucked up, but 100% true. Amazon therefore is absolved of any issue arising from the sale of these goods because the liability is on the third party seller and the purchaser/consumer.

Having said that there is a lot of crap out there and most of it is made in, you guessed it, China. Most Chinese manufacturers opt to state their lights are "CE" certified which is like self testing and most "CE" certifications are faked. They don't give two craps if the light fails or causes an electrical fire as long as they make a profit.
I hope there is an afterlife...there are a lot of friends and family I'd like to see again, one day.

Tazzman42096 Would you work your ass off in a factory to build these lights for about 1/10 the current Federal minimum wage? Could you convince other Americans down the road to work their ass of turning scrap metal into heatsinks and reflectors and shit for the same pay? Is your desperate neighbor going to press transistors into the boards of the driver for $0.50/hr? Are you willing to pollute the river next to the factory to save on proper disposal costs?

You can find lights designed and assembled in the USA but you're not going to get it for $69. You're damn sure not going to get something like this MADE IN USA for anywhere near what the high end LED lights cost. We simply can't afford to make a lot of stuff here anymore.

I use a ViparSpectra R900W and it works great.
Even Nebula Haze recommends ViparSpectra https://www.growweedeasy.com/led-grow-lights
Just make sure you get a model that has a safety certification (UL)
