    Pollination Questions

Hi I am new to trying to grow I bought a multi pack of seeds that contained 5 different strains 2 seeds each since marijuana pollinates by using the wind if you are growing different stains at the same time will everything cross pollinate. If I try one seed of each strain will it have a little of each strain? Also does growing strains together hurt the potency levels of your weed. I can not find a lot of information on growing different strains together. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Crap! That's a buncha, questions sharpgfx Get yourself some sort of electronic witchcraft machine and take pictures of your grow. Seed to weed. Bud porn.
Are you growing regular, feminized, or autoflower seeds? Pollination only happens if you have a male plant and you grow some balls that carry the pollen. You have a chance of males with regular seeds. Much less chance of growing males when you grow feminized or autoflowering seeds.
If you grow three strains, you will get three strains. There will only be a change in the weed if you grow a male and spread the pollen to your plants.
Problems growing different strains can be different heights, different nutrient needs, different flowering times. Lots of folks grow multiples.
Good start to your first post. Take a look at the GWE website and use the search function. We'll answer questions, eventually, sometimes, with many tangential side conversations, but the website is like a PhD in weed experience.

Multiple strains here in the soil, and 2 different mediums. Some of them you can see are a little taller than others which is what Gingerbeard was referring to about height difference. I honestly think it's fun to see and smell the difference when they flower.

Makes for some cool looking pictures... they take on the nice green plant color with purple outlines and reflection in the trichs...almost a glow

Definitely cool. Plus makes me think if folk who post blurple pics shined a lamp or serious flashlight long enough to take a pick other folk could see better & offer help n suggestions

Only thing I don't like about the blurple is that it's hard to tell what the trichomes look like. Otherwise they're pretty decent. Going to post a few pictures of everything in a new post.

Thanks for the info guys it answered most of what I needed to know I have all feminized seeds so I should not have any problems I just have to watch how each plant responses.
        Thanks

great to hear, when pollination occurs a single pollen molecule binds to a single pistil that goes into a single calyx to form a seed, meaning every seed has only one father and a plant can be pollinated by many males

dphipps1020 How do you like growing soil and DWC in the same tent?

It's definitely different. The DWC is growing so much faster but I still like the ease of just watering the soil. My main reason for doing this is to see the difference in smell, potency and flavor, since I already knew about the speed difference. Believe it or not I don't even have everything in my water. I have no air going in and no CalMag but I use tap water so the CalMag shouldn't be a huge issue. Haven't seen anything wrong without the air so I've just left it out, less wasted electricity. Not sure why but it's still working great. Disadvantage of soil, transplanting and slower growth. I guess we'll see in a few months what the real differences are.

Are you posting this grow in the forum? I'd like to keep an eye on it.
