    purple purple purple

Why did my main stem and branches turn purple?
Would that be a deficiency of some sort?
Fifth set of leaves coming in and plant looks otherwise healthy

Before you think deficiency of some nutrient, what is your pH? That would be water going in and any runoff. Too high or to low and the actual nutrients that are in your watering nutrients cannot be utilized by the plant due to nutrient lock out

That was my 1st thought too. Also- what's the strain?

It's most likely the pH of the water you use, as Farmall said. Be careful about the quality and purity of the water, it can make a big difference.

Some strains simple turn purple (or other colour) from their genetics.

        thanks Folks
it is white widow, seedling, in soil perlite 60/40, under led strip light , ph 6.5, we are in a 5 gal fibre pot.
I have cut the coty and next set off and raised the soil level to 3/4 full. As the plant grows I plan to cut another set of leaves from the bottom and raise the soil again to get the full 5 gals.

Must be the strain. plants look really healthy otherwise.
I will start training today with topping and bending.
            Thanks for the insights

I love purple strains...when they dry, they look like dark cherry

I've had that happen too, never grown WW before, just some hybrids with some of that heritage. But like everyone else said_ could be strain, PH or even a lack of nutrient. But if you are feeding them well and it is nutrient imbalance then its probably PH that's the culprit. If the leaves are healthy, the stems not too "droopy", and they are growing well then don't worry about it yet. Once you start to hit them with a bit of stress_ topping and LST_ then any missing links will make themselves more evident. In the coco/perlite/pumice medium I use the issue I usually face is a Cal/Mag deficiency about the third/fourth week which is often a result of two low a PH. I fix that and all is good.
            Happy growing!
