    New to growing, saying hello!

First off I want to say hi and thanks for such an informative site! Trying my hand at growing 2 plants for myself so I appreciate the help.
Been 6 days so far for my seedlings and I'll probably have questions and mistakes that need correction I'm sure.
I'm going to post a log on here (probably in anither thread) and looking forward to any constructive help. So far it's pretty exciting and I'm looking forward to the next few months.

Welcome, you've come to a great place. Lots of great people, though tonight a little slow.

I'm a newbie grower also, about two weeks away from harvest. Do you know you're plants are female? That was the biggest obstacle for us, identifying their sex before any pollination took place. We started with 21 bag seeds though.

Anyway, good luck and i love to read peoples grow journals.

What gets addictive - the growing, the using or the forum posting. The posting for sure!

Tika, what makes you question that? Yes, I'm on my very first grow, and was totally unprepared when those little sprouts seems to grow like kudzu. Not only new to growing, but new to partaking. We are doing this to help save my husbands life. He has crohn's disease among other things and is addicted to oxicontin. the oxi is slowing killing himl

I'll take it as a compliment that you didn't know I was a newbie!!

I have an idea what sprouted, but not 100% sure till they grow up a bit. I bought some Alcapulco Gold and was given Mujane Gold (not sure on spelling) as freebies. I had planted an AG that germinated which I planted and had another AG and a MG in a wet paper towel to germinate. I asked my room mate to check if the tap roots were coming out yet when I was at work. Room mate told me yes, then I came home to find she went ahead and stuck them in my planter thinking she was doing me a favor. So two seedlings came up and I'm not sure now which. The AG's were fem seeds, the other is probably a crap shoot. Either way I'm still excited about it.

                Welocime Budlofsky

See how the stems are real tall, bring the soil level up higher , you want this time to be the easiest on them. Happy growing :-)

I know there is a way to force young plants to show their sex. Switching to the 12/12 light cycle while they are still young will make them show their sex, then you immediately revert back to the 20/4 or whatever you are using. I guess it stresses the plant a little bit, but if they healthy they should quickly recover.

Wait till the plant gets a few nodes and top it enough for a clone , put the clone under flowering cycle to see what sex is. Do this as you first topping.
