    RO system

Ok all y'all, I just moved and am used to RO water. Not that I liked the old system, in fact it was a POS! A whirlpool wher25, it had issues form new like it uses filtered water to flush with (they said it cannot, but with the water supply turned off it still ran water down the drain, where else could it have came from?). Another issue is it is rated at 100 PSI max, my pressure is closer to 140 PSI, and just before the move it split open. (I have not looked at it to see what split)
I want to get a unit for this home so I can have better tasting and hopefully safer drinking water for me and the girls. What would you recommend? under counter unit? counter-top? (I can put a regulator in the line)
Also I am going to restore a well and if the water is still safe (or reasonably cleanable per testing) I will be switching to it and then the pressure will be 75PSI (and switch back the the septic tank for $100+ a month savings)
