Update on my first grow (flower)

Hi guys, 420blazeit quick UPDATE on my plant, i changed to 12/12 on the 21st of December, i saw mature pistils on 28th which im guessing is true flower time, i had an LED phlizon 1200w in my tent, but i think its too intense and starting to yellow my tips on my leafs, so i swapped bsck to my 250w super HPS , however how's my plant looking for 23days since the switch, (16 days since i saw pistils) any help on the yellowing is great, (thoughts on the phlizon 1200w) (this is a budget grow no money making just smoking my own grown bud so please help a brotber .)

Looks awesome man! Got any pictures under more natural light? Hard to see the yellowing you're talking about. How close was the light hanging from the plants? A strong LED might bleach leaves. Were they cupped or curled up at all? That would be more of a heat stress. If I had to guess they are probably hungry.

I will grab more pics when the lights are on next, however the phlizon was 20inches above, 2inches over recommended height but my tents smaller than the recommended by phlizon, and it only started yellowong when it was put in, however nonothing has died and she's growing rapidly, ill get back with pics tonight my friend

it was probably hungry, or maybe slight light bleaching, how hot were temps right at the top of the canopy? Do you have a hygrometer hanging at the top of the canopy? Was 20" as high as you could keep that light? length and width won't matter when it comes to light burning plants, its just a matter of the distance from the closest leaves.

With the LED temps got as much as 25°c which is on a cold day when the heatings on, my tent is kind of small and my plants filling it out rapidly (I'm excited!) 20inch is with the led at the very top, i measured this by the tallest cola ( and obviously a tap measure lol) im going to be using PK rage 18/20 for flowering i have been ph'ing my water and feed before hand, many thanks again, also any information on how to dry to get the best quality smoke

Can't help you with drying, I've never really had any luck before, but I've never really harvested buds worth drying before, sooo we will see. To me it doesn't sound like a light issue, maybe more of a hunger issue, hope you can dial things in the for the final stretch, things look good.

I'm going out on a limb here. Your plants look awfully leggy, the absence of blue light in HPS is apparent. While the power draw (300W) of the Phizon LED lights is not too much different than your 250W HPS, those LED lights deliver more blue light than the HPS. I think that might be quite a shock to your plant. My Vipar Spectra Dimmable lights draw 200W and I'm just now getting some 6-week old colas to grow 16" away from the light without damage. I think it is important to note that the plant grew into the light, rather than me forcing the LED lights that close immediately. Any time I'm making significant changes in light I like to give myself some extra room between plant and light. I'd suggest pulling that LED light up 4-6 inches for now, and let the plant adjust to the changed intensity and light spectrum.

Hi there, i have had the phlizon in for over 2 weeks, plots stretched like crazy, the plants didnt look effected at all, but then as they stretched and my lights as high as it goes, i don't wanna risk bleaching my buds or stressing my plant out incase it doesnt suit my grow area, the yellowing is only stsrted on the tips of my new growth, ive changed back to my hps due to my lack of room for light adjustment, apparently the yeilds are better with an HPS, than tge led 1200w by phlizon power draw of 190w, creating something like 20,000lumens , my 250w super hps creates 30,000(apparently) I'm new to leds so i think im gonna start a fresh grow starting with the leds, maybe get a taller tent while im at it lol

420BlazeIt You could start with the LED and take advantage of the blue spectrum to create shorter internodes and save head room. Then transfer to the HPS for flower. Get a second tent and you're on your way to a continuous grow.
