    Lab testing at home

Given the current options for testing material at home. I know about the DX and the tCheck and have heard enough about those two that doesn’t convince me that they have consistent and repeatable results for spending between 500to $ 700. Quite a few states that have test services require you to either hand deliver or mail samples to them....of course the catch 22 in mailing is ...mailing is criminal and the problem in hand delivering is crossing state lines. Also a crime...

im wondering what kind of experiences our group might have with those devices and I’m a looking into some like this... would love to hear opinions.

I have no experience with them, I have looked a bit also. When figuring the cost add in expendable supplies. And by this point my curiosity was done. If I were growing commercially, I would certainly have to have something to do testing with. (would still need independent testing)

I wonder how well it would go over to set up at a dispensary (etc.) and do local testing for folks home grows (not certification) for enuf to pay for supplies and they unit,,,,

Im really looking to have some form of concrete number which can tell me either the success has come from all the crazy efforts or just let it grow with some small attention to detail...look at all the energy folks put into details... is it REALLY REALLY an advantage? I’m not anxious to see 18% versus 19.1%. But I’d love to know that by doing “x”. I have a nice beneficial increase...and if I don’t then this is what it wound up to be

After yesterday's discussion about these test kits for "home" use I also looked up some stuff and the $$$ scared me straight. I didn't even consider that something would exist much less be practical from a $ standard as well as ease of use, accuracy, terpene profiles, etc...
My question to Farmall and others is this: what cost basis seems appropriate for true home growers and how many tests per kit or would something more concrete be better? I ask this as I know a manufacturer of higher end testers and I'm going to pester him. Couldn't hurt to get the opinion of a manufacturer and assess the feasibility of such a thing. I know I too would benefit from a small tester of some sort. May help in determining the harvest window as well. Is $100 too much or too little? I know I can't even consider $250 personally (she's tolerant but not that tolerant) but if I knew a few other growers it could be spread out.
What would need to be tested for? I'm certain we'd need thca, thc, cbda and cbd but what else is crucial for home use?

Consistency will depend on your lab technique and experience. There is a reason why people in life sciences take classes in this stuff.

Not sure if you’ve heard about the new discovery of a cannabinoid called THCP... it’s supposedly 30times more potent than THC and may explain the unknown medical benefits of cannabis. It is a very recent development and may show that testing needs to flow along these lines and negate the current testing. I’m sure it will be some time before this compound has recognizable details that will be somehow related to the THC in buds currently but it’s surely a consideration for the near future.

in the mean time. the test kit I was reading about is $160.00 IF IT HAS VALUE, I’m ok with that as it offers 20 tests.

the secret enviromental ingredient to foster THCP production is: love.

seriously though, some of these lunar phenomenon discoveries, nobel prize winners withdrawing their papers, russians adding themselves taking credit for papers they were nowhere near.. i suspect THCP is another yarn spun by internet consensus machines to see what they can get away with.

A question to ask the MFG would be updates to the equipment, is it upgradable? And at what cost?
I see many uses for this equipment, just not for what I currently do. Now breeding my own strain/s this would be great to have!
