    Not to scare you but I did this last night. Look closely where the two main branches of my topped Alaskan Purple split on me when I got on a roll and screwed up. I already had them tied down weeks ago but was tightening tie downs and didn't pay attention to the fact that it was one of the top two and was already pulled down as much as it would handle. When I started gently tightening the wire, I felt it give and stopped. The plant was split right down the middle about half an inch or so, luckily I wasn't yanking and released it before splitting it any further. It sucked but I didn't worry at all, just found a zip tie and closed the gap on the split. She'll be fine in a few days but she's done with training, luckily it's about time to flip to flower.
