Sounds like it will work great. My outdoor mix always contains vermiculite, cow manure, mushroom compost and peat moss (alternative to coco). Sometimes I add other stuff but these ingredients are a mainstay. You don't need perlite and vermiculite (one or the other is enough) but it won't hurt anything. I've never really used much charcoal to grow anything but random poor pot farmers all over the world use it although I imagine that is because they have no access to or cannot afford fertilizer/nutrients. Potting mix is unnecessary as well.

I only put a little charcoal and was going to use it to line the bottom of the pot.
I got bags of all that stuff for free and as this is my first time I just thought I would add some of everything. Lol
FunkyButtLovin can u advise roughly how much manure and mushroom compost u would use/add roughly . What ratio?
