    Do I really need to?

Going to be making my first batch of RSO and my question is do I need to go through the whole dry and cure process only to decarboxylate the weed I’ve grown in the oven. I realize some drying prior to will have to take place, but the cure?? That seems counterproductive.

You do not need to dry it or cure it. However for purposes of knowing exactly how much cannabis you use I would dry it. It just makes it much easier.
You may win the race, but you pass all the best things in life on the way.

You do need to dry it or when you soak in alcohol it will leach water into the product and make it more difficult.

5-7 day dry at correct temp and rh with air circulation and you're good to go.
