Green Thumb I am in 30 gal.pots. my concern is this. After watering in less than in less than 2 to 3 days the top foot of my soil is very dry although the bottom two feet of my soil is very wet. I have very good return on my water at least 20%. Should I continue watering or wait until the bottom dries further. I have been watering even though the bottom two feet are damp and have had no problems to this point the girls are about a month and 3 weeks into flower. What would you do green thumb or anyone else that has a suggestion. Thanks vegdude

This is my first grow in 30 gallon pots and like I said I see no sign of any root problems. Plants are very healthy just concerned about the bottom two feet being so wet. Since they were babies I watered equally 3-4 gal when the top foot was dry. With no problems. Help me if you can

            wow...I totally disagree...but that's what's nice about this place....it's allowed

Strange isn't it....how it's all different...in my experiences with defoliation...to achieve big buds it's a must to steal away their fan leaves...been doing it for a very long time...I can't imagine my buds to be any bigger just because I left all that extra unneeded baggage on. Possible I guess but I doubt it.

We all have our own way to achieve the same thing....keep up the good work

Vegdude, your plant looks great, so I wouldn't change your watering habits now. I was going to say, that she could use some thinning out of fan leaves, but that's just me. You seem to like the results you get with keeping the fan leaves, so just keep on keeping on.

WeedPharma, as to your original question, yes, if you have lower bud sites that you don't want, cut them out and more energy will go into the ones the main buds that you have left.
