    Root bound dissection

My first grow went far batter than I could have imagined. I never saw any issues with my grow. I was curious about my root structure, dumped the pot - wow. Very root bound. Decide to dissect it to see what the core looked like. Comments on root structure or anything in general are very welcome because other than a massive ball I don't know exactly what I'm looking at . It was very dense and spongy while cutting in half , think of a cake made from moss. I gently brushed away dirt trying not to destroy roots as I did. I made a diy air pot, that is why it looks polka-doted - why are they white , any one know?

Most likely a small colony (culture) of either a bacteria or mold that likes air and isn't killed by light, nothing harmful.
Nothing is foolproof for the sufficiently talented fool.
