Yes to your first question as much sun as they can get without over heating. Think as the plant thinks " hmmm it's 105 degrees maybe I need some shade for a while"
Second question in my experience plants need to be well rooted approx. 2+months old for sexing. That's how I myself do it. Outdoors I've waited months for them to show sex.
Corogold there are many pictures on this site and google showing indica and sativa leaves.

To keep your marijuana plants in flowering, you will need to provide a consistent 12/12 light schedule until harvest. Any schedule...

The light schedule should be maintained as 12/12, so you should not be giving the plants as much light as possible. But 12 hours of direct light will have better results than 12 hours of indirect light.

Well to me that looks like a indica strain. May need some shade if the sun is cooking that container the roots hate it.

How big is that pot? It might be root bound.
