    Save your cfl's!

    They'll be worth money someday!
Just got back from Home Depot and was told they no longer will carry cfl bulbs due to mercury content. Never thought that chain was concerned with environmental issues but whatever. Here's what I got instead. Hopefully it gets the gwe official "you didn't fuck up" stamp of approval!

Let's see...8 watt led or a 40 watt cfl...40 watt cfl wins everytime.....that's like throwing a penny in the ocean and hope it makes waves....haha....plus that's just a red bulb...they make led bulbs that are for flower that are red ...they should sell there as well...maybe....still worthless tho...for us

An 8 watt led is gonna be comparable to the 15-20 watt bulbs you could usually get at places like the home Depot anyways. If you're gonna buy online it might be good to invest in some higher wattage led. Similar cost and you'll save power along they way. And by higher I just mean at least 20 watts or so.

CFLs are not nearly as good as a HPS lamp. I hope you get your lighting needs met.

I'm just trying to add light to those spots further away from 1200w leds.

Thanks for the heads up on CFLS. Other than outdoor sunshine, that's all I've used so far for my grows, and I have loved the way I can arrange them all around the plant,. So far the buds produced have definitely met my potency needs. Another thread dealt with them losing their power after longtime use...so I'm definitely stocking up now! Thanks again.🌸

I have used the LEDs that Lucky picked up and contrary to what some believe they are not useless. They are most often sold in "daylight" spectrum, which tries to copy natural sunlight of mid day. I used them 50/50 with cfls and resulting grow was acceptable. I have not used them excusively, but an experiment might around the corner. Thay certainly are replacing cfls on store shelves now. A good place to look for cfls is a store that recycles building materials, like Habitat for Humanity.
