Think my plant has root rot and ph level is to high. Any suggestions on trying to save it? It is in the ground outdoors. Weve been having a major heat wave. Should I dig up plant and rinse soil and put in a pot so I can bring indoors? The soil smelled rancid and was really mushy. The roots appeared to be white but could have been light brown.

Sorry but pic 2 looks quit dead to me, at this point you would have nothing to loose transplanting it. It probably will not survive, if you do maybe use something like voodoo juice or great white to promote root growth.
I had too much wet this year as well, I took a 55 gallon food grade plastic barrel and made rings to rise the soil above the water (top and bottom became drip pans for 20 gallon pots). You can see these rings in these pics,,,, I also dug drainage around the area.2 Photos
