At least every five days, I shake the cap out and put in new storage solution. It calls for five drops.

I rinse mine with deionized water & I dump my KOH solution out and refill after every PH test. If I don’t use my pen for a while I have to refill every so often. I never let my bulb go dry.

No. KOH is what you want for storage. But yes, well water works better than calibration solution.
To make your meter last longer, get KOH storage solution.

Does your storage solution have only so many days of storing your pen before you dump it out, and replace w/ fresh solution? Or, do you just keep adding more as it slowly evaporates?

So, is my well water, which is hard, OK for storing my pen? I've been ignorant by leaving the cap off frequently to dry out.

I keep mine in the calibration solution when not in use.

Do those using a pH meter store it in a storage solution? I May have read somewhere on this site that you can use your calibration buffer solution for in-between-usage storage.
