Do those using a pH meter store it in a storage solution?

At least every five days, I shake the cap out and put in new storage solution. It calls for five drops.

I rinse mine with deionized water & I dump my KOH solution out and refill after every PH test. If I don’t use my pen for a while I have to refill every so often. I never let my bulb go dry.Last edited by Toker1; 08-16-2019, 10:14 PM.

No. KOH is what you want for storage. But yes, well water works better than calibration solution.
To make your meter last longer, get KOH storage solution.

Does your storage solution have only so many days of storing your pen before you dump it out, and replace w/ fresh solution? Or, do you just keep adding more as it slowly evaporates?Originally posted by s62 View PostI use a Blue Labs pen, and I store it in Blue Labs storage solution.

So, is my well water, which is hard, OK for storing my pen? I've been ignorant by leaving the cap off frequently to dry out.Originally posted by Toker1 View PostNo sir. KOH is what you are looking for storage solutions. It’s actually better to store in plain tap water rather than a calibration solution.

Do those using a pH meter store it in a storage solution? I May have read somewhere on this site that you can use your calibration buffer solution for in-between-usage storage.Tags: None
