HELP! Your experience with Viparspectra 600w

Hello GWE. We finally got legal medical Cannabis in my state and I have been approved for a personal grow. It is nice that I can be active in this forum without fear of repercussions from 'the state'. My question is about switching from a SunSystem 315 LEC to two Viparspectra 600's. I will have a 3 x 3 Gorilla Grow Tent for my girls in veg and will move them to my 5 x 5 Gorilla Grow Tent for flower.

I am very interested in the Viparspectras and am thinking of purchasing two TC600 600W lights for my plants in flower. I realize that lighting is a little like politics in that people tend to have strong feelings about it. I am concerned about using HID lights in my 5' x 5' Gorilla Grow Tent because of heat issues. I am currently set up with an 6" AC Infinity fan with an attached 24" carbon filter that moves 351 cfm at max speed. I can say that keeping this tent cool with the SunSystem 315 LEC can be difficult.

It seems from reading other posts that many growers want to believe in LED’s but were disappointed. One person posted that they believed that energy savings were minimal to non-existent. I am not concerned with slightly lower yields by weight or trichomes. My understanding is that LED’s have improved a lot since they were first introduced and the newer Viparspectras have added in infrared. I like my SunSystem 315 LEC which if one is honest is probably not adequate for a 5' x 5' tent but figure that I could increase yields with two Viparspectra 600’s without having to worry about a high utility bill and heat issues in the room where it will be located. The two Viparspectras with a total of 1200 watts would cost about as much as one additional SunSystem 315 LEC but give me roughly 3 times the number of watts.

I would like to hear about anyones experience with these lights and especially if they have the Viparspectra TC600 600W which allows one to dim both channels, veg and flower. I also an intrigued by the idea of of gradually diminishing the veg spectrum while bringing the flower spectrum combined with a gradual change in hours to simulate conditions of growing outdoors. I will be growing in soil.

Thank you Skunkaroo for responding to both of my posts. As we both know there are a lot of growers who love their HID's and that is fine. If things were different here I would like to have both an indoor and outdoor grow but for a number of reasons that is not possible for me now.
