    12-22-16...greeting...word of day

what's up crew....good day from me to you...

    Word of day...why

Why do you grow in the style that you do...
the way you treat and shape and care for your ladies...does your style resemble your personality...?

    #2
Morning green. Why? I guess the answer to that is more about lack of experience. Everything is an experiment so i wouldnt say i have a style yet. Looking at my current grow it's obvious i dont have the capability to "shape" yet though im getting better. Oh and i dont have a personality...my dog ate it.

      Good morning Greenie and crew.

Im still experimenting with various training methods. I'm sure whenever I figure out what I like it will match my personality.... simple but effective typically.

Good morning all from the sunny south. I hope you all have good growing days without any of the myriad problems that can be such a pain.

For me the why is fairly simple (it only took me 40 some years to figure it out). I believe we are all a product of both 'nature' and 'nurture'. By nature I am a very logic driven individual. For years I thrived in a black and white, yes or no world, math major in college, career in the computer industry. So when faced with any issue I apply logic to it (study, ask questions etc) until I find the logic behind it.

However, that is just a small part. I spent my formative years on a dairy farm with my aunt and uncle. He was a cantankerous, mean, unloving individual (or so I thought). We started milikng very day at 4:30 AM ugh. We also raised crops for feed, oats and corn mainly. We also had a 2acre garden to feedus.

My mean, evil, cantankerous uncle taught me the best lesson about raising any living thing. Everyday, rain, shine, sickness and health, my uncle checked on EVERY living thing on that farm. I learned that by personally showing love and care for your charges daily, you not only can see immediately learn if then is a problem and start to find the fix but also the love and caring given to our charges improves their lives immeasurably.
It's not how crazy I am, but how much I enjoy it that makes me dangerous.

        Good day to all! 🌻
I like to experiment with what I grow, trying to learn for myself what works and doesn't. Not that I'm opposed to book learning....just like to see for myself by doing. And I love to make connections with whatever I try to nurture, cause it is usually a two way relationship, with me gaining strength and insight in response to my attention to the plant or animal. Also like to keep it fun...if it becomes a "chore" I usually move on to something different. 🌸

Why - sick husband who desperately needs it.

How - at the time, the easiest thing was just to stick some bag seed (20 of them) in soil and get it going. Boy did those thing take off like wildfire. We were unprepared. Started ordering tent, lights, exhaust, etc. By the time all was sent up, the plants (18 of them had been transferred to 2gal buckets and were almost ready for the 12/12 flip. Ended up with 5 girls and 13 boys. One girl was riddled with seeds at harvest so we just pitched whole thing.

Training - No topping or lst, just defoliation when needed. Three of them looked like Christmas trees. Only fem seeds now. Won't be afraid to top and train them this time.

The more I learn my growing style evolves. At first (in the 70's) a closet lined with bag seed, foil, potting soil, miracle grow, a single four foot plant store grow light. Very little success. A few outside grows, still bag seed, 10-20-10 feed and seed store fertilizer, more successful. After reading GWE web site, indoor grows, living soil, thirty CFL surrounding and above my plants, AK48 seeds, And I started topping and LST on my last grow. I am now out of the cave, walking upright, and my knuckles no longer drag.

I grow the way I grow because I'm an old stubborn ass. But I have to admit Green. Your method is starting to appeal to me more and more.

I'm still on my very 1st grow but I'm quickly developing a particular style. GWE definitely kicked it off with the lst and of course Dr. Green has had a huge influence on me from the 1st day I joined this forum (thank you Dr) as have many others here (thank u all). I kinda feel like I'm being molded like clay!

I'm really into having a flat canopy on my plants and especially want them short and even, not tall & lanky. I want the colas spaced evenly apart and around the same height. When I tie a branch down I imagine it turned back up towards the light...will it fill in an open space? Will it be even with the other tops? I'm seriously irked by gaps where there's nothing there.

This is a Dinafem Blue Kush Auto I worked on this morning. I had planned on leaving this one alone & letting it grow naturally, it hasn't been that healthy & I've been adjusting things to see if it would pick up & it has but it's long & stretchy, which I don't like, so I started tying it down trying to get some even tops & control height.

I didn't think to take pics until I was halfway thru...

Indeed, Dr.Green has greatly influenced my growing style as well. Short, wide, with well spaced colas for me now. Much easier to give them the light they deserve! Thanks Doc! 💚
