I can't wait for Santa to get here and bring me a camera. My lady is doing much better than I could have hoped. When I checked her this morning I counted 11 bud sites YAY!!!. A few weeks ago I was commenting on a question and mentioned that I had manifolded her and was using LST. Green75 stated something about LST and defoliation.
Since this first grow was a bagseed and was going to be an experiment anyway, I figured what the heck. Since moving her to 12/12 I am still doing LST but with some very careful/limited defoliation. The results have been absolutely amazing. Along with the 11 buds she is much more vigorous. Every morning it is like she is telling me she is ready for her hair cut. As suggested I have been cautious. If there are 2 take 1 etc. Mr. Green75 thank you for the advice.
After thinking about it for a while (I am very slow sometimes) I finally remembered something from a long time back. My youngest (she is out of college now) wanted to help me in the garden and grow something of her own. We decided on pumpkins, like marijuana once established they are almost impossible to kill. We also decided to grow one very large one. This where the technique of defoliation comes in. Once the pumpkin plant has flowered, choose one flower and chop all the other 'arms' back. Again just like marijuana, the plant will put all of it's resources into the one fruit it has left. Wish I had remembered that a while ago. I would have been defoliating a long time ago lol.
