Help! Brown Calyxes at harvest?

Bracks

New member
Hi everyone , this is my 3rd Harvest. First 2 i did not experience this. Last night I chopped down my High CBD Strain. It is mostly Sativa so had a longer flowering time. While cutting off the Fan Leaves I noticed most of the Calyxes under my buds were turning brownish and soft. I am hoping this is normal and not the start of Bud Rot. Just worried if these are brown and moist they could cause the start of Bud rot? Or is this Normal they start to die off and turn brown near the end of flowering. Love to hear your opinions. Thanks for your time.

those calyxes where the first to be born when flowering started so yeah theyre dead and drying/curing and thats why you see them brown, chlorophyll has been broken down. dont mind them, it wont rot

Bracks Wow, that's really interesting, I've never seen such a thing before. Can you remove one of the calyxes so I can get a close view?

Thanks for posting that, Bracks! That is so weird!!! You'll have to give us a smoke report on the brown calyxes!! :-}
