    hydro reservoir size

Hi everyone. how deep dose the nutrient reservoir need to be? my mesh pots are 100mm deep and as i understand you need about 50mm gap between the top of water level to the bottom of the pots????
i have containers that are 300mm deep. leaving me with just 150mm of nutrient water when full.. is that enough??
    cheers Legends

How many gallons of water do you think the 150mm worth of space will hold? And what kind of yield were you looking to get out of it?

it would be be about 4 gallons of water full.. yield? well as much as i can. 1m x 1m x1.8m tent with 450w LED, so hoping about 5 ounces from 2 plants,
PS this will be my first grow so i dont really know what to expect..

You can actually do one plant with those four gallons and yield more than five ounces. Hopefully your environment is optimal!

yer properly, but as its my first grow Im not setting the bar too high. 5 or 6 ounces of a couple of plants would make me happy, more would make me very happy, so what do you think about the 150mm of water? enough or should i get a deeper reservoir ?

I personally use 5 gallon pails and they work perfectly. Once the plants get big they drink a lot of water. Bigger pails= bigger roots which = bigger plants.
