    12-19-16 ...getting...word of day

hey...how are you all doing...School cancelled so I am home today with kids and slept in....(needed that)
Hope you all are happy and warm.....thanks for stopping in....

    Word of day...build...
What have you had to build or remodel to be able to grow weed....

I once built a hydro system with one reservoir that feed 20 containers...it was in a 7x7 old coal room in my basement...
All homemade...I had $30 in whole setup...used it for a year...I eventually invested in an ebb and flow system...which in time led me back to using soil or medium in pots to hand water...hydro is COOL...but I like to play with my ladies and move them around.
This is just one example of my weed ingenuity.....let's hear one of yours!!

Tops to all of you....my friends

Good morning family from the rainy and chilly south (53 for high today lol).

I was all set with my plan to purchase everything needed for a grow operation, until my partner brought up a problem. Her mother comes for a visit periodically. No big deal, she's a nice lady and we get along fine but, she is very, very nosy. My partner asked what explanation I was going to use for this big black 'thing' in the laundry room. I said it would be a wardrobe where we keep seasonal clothing. Then my partner said, 'You know that the first chance she gets she will open it'. What will you tell her when she asks why are you growing weed in a house where my great granddaughter spends so much time. Busted.

It finally occurred to me (I'm a bit slow on the uptake being Polish and all) that my closet would do. I could put a lock on the door and say it is where we store our weapons and ammo lol. The lock will keep her out when no one is around and earn me brownie point for locking my guns away lol.

It took me about 3 hours and about $20 to add reflective material, seal the door against light leaks and move the hanger bar up to the ceiling. The best part is when they upgraded the airconditiong they needed a larger air return so they built it into my closet. Not only do I have a 24 x 36 x 72 grow box. I can vent my exhaust (after carbon filtering) right into the air return. The best part is the air return made an enclosed box 3 feet high so I don't have to bend over to tend to my ladies.
It's not how crazy I am, but how much I enjoy it that makes me dangerous.

We're pretty close to each other. We're pretty much in the only part of the US that's not freezing!
Very inventive w/the closet. I like it.
It wouldn't do for me to be in your situation w/the mother in law tho lol. I'd plant something really outrageous and highly embarrassing for her to find and leave her alone at my house to plunder. I like to prank people tho. I give the telemarketers hell. I turn their calls against them by acting like I can hear them and then soon as they get a few sentences out I say "hello,is anyone there?" and they say "yes, can you hear me?" "yes, I can hear you now" then I let them get part way thru their pitch and again "hello...is anybody there?" after 3 or 4 times they just hang up in frustration.
The other day one called saying I had a virus on my computer and wanted to help me fix it...like I'm gonna fall for that...so I said "it's from the porn huh?" "is it from the porn?" and he hung up

I lined the inside of an entertainment unit with mylar, the part that holds the tv with a pull out swivel tray and two closing door.. That stuff is not easy to work with. Wasn't sure how much I'd need so I order this big ass role of the stuff from ebay. Only used a small fraction of it. Mounted one of our T5 fixtures to the top, popped in a little 6 inch fan. Never ended up using it. I'm eventually going to grow an auto in there Doors can stay open most of the time. It's down in the basement so temps and humidity are ideal pretty much year round. Could rig up a cfl or two to shine in from the front to get to underneath part of plants better. Just enough room for one plant.

Even though my husband is a structural engineer and has been in charge of some really huge construction projects (a high school and a courthouse to name two) he does no building around the house. Knows how to trouble shoot any electrical, plumbing, hvac problem that arises, then calls someone in to do the work. I did help him nail a custom cut piece of plywood over the window in the garage where our grow tent resides.

Good afternoon you all! 🌻 Took some rigid wire fencing I had leftover from fencing my outdoor flower/veg garden from woodchucks, made a circular cage (3 feet wide), lined it with mylar, attached 6 bamboo poles to the sides to hang my CFL fixtures and voila, perfect fit in my bedroom for growing autos indoors. Easy to monitor plant since it is open at top and keeps the temps almost the same as bedroom.
          Peace! 🌸

That is a super cool and ingenious idea! With autos, things are just so much more simple and a whole lot less expensive.

Thanks Insomm, I was almost surprised at how great it works for my one plant at a time habit. And you can't beat autos for ease!🌸

Made the greet mid-day....wow! A beautiful day here and sending you all part of it.
nothing inventive or creative here. Just pastiched my Grow space together from studying GWE back in 2014, into my 3rd tent and 3rd lighting system. The only thing I can say is that I did it all myself including pitching the 5x9 Gorilla tent and rigging my hardware for the LEDs.
Once done I plopped on the floor and said...sonofabitch!

              Good day everyone!

I took my dark old basement and turned it into my grow area after getting my list of items from GWE (nebula and sirrus thanks for the list!) I put together my gorilla tent hung my light and a big ass scrubber (that was hard alone)
I did have a sparky come in and give me plugs and hung my fan outside the tent. I love it now it's my grow cave . I might hook a small wood stove up for these winter nights! And I will be building 2 rooms veg and flower room I'm collecting wood now for it. ( I was a finish carpenter) so not afraid to do it myself.

              Thanks Doc be cool!

Putting our 4 x 8 x 82" high tent together had both me and hubs cussing, and he isn't a cusser. Getting that one piece cover over and under the entire thing was a Bi-otch. I can't even imagine doing it yourself.........and hanging those heavy lights. You are a true superwoman Tika!!
