    First time grow setup

My name is poppylon I am 60 years young. This is my first time to grow weed. I need help to get me jump started. Here is what I have.

    1. 2x4x5 grow tent
    2. 300 watt led full spectrum
    3. 4- 70 watt led bulbs
    4. 2- 5gal bubble buckets complete with 6 inch pots
    5. Clay pebbles
    6. Rapid rooters
    7. Hydro grow nutrients and pH test kit with both up and down
    8. Botanicare Hydro Gard
    9. I have 2 3gal pots of soil .

    Questions
Can I grow with bubble buckets and pots with soil
Can I use both lighting systems at the same time.
How many plants can I grow at once. I would like to get 4oz dried buds
    Thanks

Looks good, are you growing from seed? Auto's or photoperiod?
I don't see why you can't do the soil and hydro at the same time but you'll probably need to raise the soil pot/s to keep an even canopy under your lights. The hydro may grow faster and with 4 plants in a 2x4 footprint you'll need to do lots of training and pruning to keep the plants from overrunning the space. You'll be limited by height too, especially because you'll need to keep a good distance between the LEDs and the canopy (18" seems standard with 3w led components). I wonder if just growing two plants in the space for your first grow might be better. I have 2 plants in 3 gal smart pots of coco in my 2x4 tent right now. I've done up to 4 plants in 2 gal pots but that gets pretty busy by the end of flowering.

If the 70W bulbs are warm (2700k ish) I'd save them and add when you switch to flowering. This said, no reason you can't run all your lights except heat. What do you plan to do about air circulation? You'll likely want a fan over the canopy and an outtake fan at the top of the tent too (to help control temperatures).

You may need different nutes for the soil part of your grow ... not sure on that.

    good luck

I'm using fem white widow. Planting seeds in rapid rooters and clay pebbles in bubble buckets start to finish. Yes I will be using a carbon filter. Thanks for rapid response.

Aloha Poppylon - The 300x LED should be able to cover the footprint of that tent you mentioned. Unless you are using those extra bulbs to veg from sprout to Week 2 veg, the other bulbs are probably overkill. Remember to take into consideration the height of your bucket, as plant heading for 44 inches might clip the bottom of your light and/or cause plant bleaching if the light is too close. You can grow both hydro and soil, and you probably would not want more than 2-3 plants in that tent. You might find one plant under a SCROG will do very well. You will probably need some form of ventilation after Week 1 or 2 of flower because it will get stinky right after that. Don't over do it on the nutes... Go easy and let your plants talk to you. Good luck to you and happy growing dude!

Sounds like you've got almost everything! You can definitely grow with hydro and soil side-by-side to see which one you like better, though it might be a little tougher to do both at once. When it comes to trying to estimate yields, we need to know a little more about the lights since that's one of the biggest things when it comes to yields!

Do you know the model of 300W LED panel and its "actual power draw" out of the wall? Sometimes sellers will label LEDs with their "equivalent" watts, which isn't the same thing. Also could we see a picture of your other LED bulbs? If they're the kind you get at the grocery store that look like regular light bulbs, unfortunately I think they might not work. But once we get a grasp of the full wattage and type of your grow lights, we'll be able to help you estimate the yields to expect
