How long I can use my carbon filter?

Hi guys,

how a carbon filter experies? What happens to the carbon?
Ive been told the one I bought should last a year.
Actually I bought a bigger fan and carbon filter than I need, using it with a variac roughly 1/5 of the full speed. So basically I have a lower airflow than the carbon filter would take. Does it make my filter last a bit longer???

U know its 1/2 done when u can smell it. U can switch ends on the filter and get additional use.lol

mines a bit more than a year and I can smell it. need a new one.

Are they all the same?

Try to switch ends first. Do u use a prefilter sock? If so wash it out good and dry completely before condemning filter, one cheep sob here, 😁

Not all carbon filters are created equal. I think you gonna get what you pay for.
