Second grow in micro cabinet.
I just finished my second harvest of the year from my micro cabinet.
Two Northern Lights plants.
I have made a few adjustments along the way.
I added a second PC fan and some more venting to the bottom.
I had a problem this summer of keeping it cool enough.
I changed my flowering lights to be on during the night.
Fans running constantly kept the temps manageable.
Enough talk here are some pictures.
Just before harvest
Now the harvest and drying
And 2 weeks later
6 grams over 4 full ounces.
Ready to make a batch of canna caps.
I started drying in the attic but had to move to the garage because of too much heat.

Harvest time today.
After 70 days flowering, and 15 plus week's total growing.
Pistols were mostly all brown, and trichomes were almost completely cloudy.
Before harvest.
Anyone care to guess how much this will weigh once dried?
Also got a small amount of trim (baby buds)
One more shot of the buds

Just finished 7 weeks of 12/12.
A few of the pistols are turning brown, I am guessing another week or two?
Some mighty fine buds going here, I had to support one of the colas as it seems to be getting too heavy to hold up the weight.
Really getting sticky and quite a wonderful smell.

Just a piece of my experience get a loupe over a cheep digital microscope. I bought both and my $50 micro went right in the trash. Get what you pay for with those

Hi Cannacaps, You need a jeweler's loupe; maybe this will help: https://forum.growweedeasy.com/forum...chomes-clearly
That's really the best way to tell, plus almost all of the pistils will have browned. You do not want to harvest too early, which would definitely affect the quality/strength of the medicine.

Can you see the tricones with the naked eye, a magnifying glass?

Let Nature, with a little help, take is course. When you check the tricones do it in normal light, not under the grow lights. Looks real nice ! Good Growing !!

She just finished her 4th week of 12/12.
I think she looks pretty good.
As this is my first grow ever, I am only guessing another month?
I hope all those bud sites start filling out.
I have increased the nutes to full strength FF, grow big, big bloom, and tiger bloom.
Nutes today second time this week.
I think she may be done stretching (I still have another 4 inches I can raise my lights)
Any thoughts on additional nutes?
Anything I should be doing?
Been doing a lot of reading on when to harvest, drying and curing.

Cannacaps4U2 I didn't mean to sound dictatorial about reading in previous post; I wrote that because your buds look like they are just beginning and will probably need for than 3-4 weeks. I didn't know if you knew what to look for towards the end of flowering or not. I would suggest not waiting until mostly amber, as so much of the chemical content will degrade. Too much amber seems to me like an over-ripe banana or an apple that's going mushy. But that's just my take: if you like lots of CBN for sedation, I understand what you're going for.
I definitely like to cure my bud for vaping, as I have found that a well-cured bud packs a stronger and smoother punch. But I have a buddy who likes me to decarb freshly-dried bud for him before he vapes it, so I decarb in my Ardent Nova for him. When you decarb fresh dry herb in the Nova, it comes out nicely browned and smelling fantastic, because the Nova temperature and process preserve all the terpenes.
Curing improves the smoking/vaping experience: it makes the bud smoother. Ed Rosenthal says that curing doesn't transform the potency of the bud, but many others maintain that curing does make the bud more potent, or as Nebula says, people perceive higher potency. So there's no final answer on that one yet.
Curing isn't necessary for edibles because edibles go to the stomach rather than the lungs. I made a tincture yesterday from my present harvest (some buds are dry and in cure jars, other buds are still hanging): I decarbed all the bud that went into the tincture, including some that was still hanging to dry. The decarb process removes excess moisture, so after the wetter bud was decarbed, I just let it sit out for a while to evaporate any remaining moisture (in cool area, in shadows) before I added it to the alcohol. Then I put it in the freezer and let it steep.

I have been reading for quite some time.
I will refresh my knowledge with the links you posted.
I know that I want to harvest when my trichomes are mostly Amber (as I want a sedating experience)
What I was asking you about your process, is do you treat drying and curing differently for edibles than for smoking?
You stated that drying and curing aren't that important for my purposes.
