    When to move seedlings

Hey everyone, I've got a rookie question. Since I'm relatively new to hydroponics I'm not 100% sure when I should move my seedlings into my system. I started germination in rapid rooters 5 days ago and they have all sprouted and are just starting to produce their first set of true leaves. They are currently under a couple t5's. My grow light is a 1000w hortilux hps with a dimmable ballast. I don't want to jump the gun and put them in too early but I also don't want the roots to get any exposure to light. They just started to poke out the bottom of the rooters. Should I dim my ballast down to 600w and keep the light a couple feet away until they establish some more roots? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Right now you should place close to a CFL for a few days at least. You gonna burn them with a HPs specially only a couple of feet away. I would wait until they’re at least a few nodes high, with strong roots. And I would place the light as far as I can and lower it slowly

Okay thanks man. I'm going to take them out of the greenhouse dome tomorrow and move my t5's a bit closer
