    Light Color for Growing Purpose?

Greetings, in the 1980s in Southern Cal. I had a plant nursery and a giant green house where with just regular grow lights I also enjoyed growing Pot for myself and Friends. Now, I am trying to grow marijuana for myself in my home. The problem is as sprouts they twist and turn and are all stem. What color light filter do I need to use?

Lights are to far away that’s why the strech, I use blue floresents for seedlings at a very close distance 2-3” and temps 75-80 no more

Howdy BearWarrior, first, I agree with Potted, the lights must be too far above the sprouts causing them to stretch. The plants will grow toward a bluish full spectrum light. I have been using CFLs and use both 2700° K and 5000° K bulbs throughout the entire grow. Some growers use only the full spectrum bulbs during the vegetative growth and then the 'reddish' spectrum bulbs for the flowering phase of the grow. In my own opinion, in a natural setting the early and late sun light has a reddish shift to the light and during the mid morning and afternoon, the light is the 'full spectrum'. I think that the plants need both spectrums of light during the entire grow. This has worked very well for me.

Hey Bear, if you're gonna use cfl, bright white for veg, use a lot of em and keep em close. Add some soft white lights for flower.
