Hey folks. Now that the weather is changing, I'm faced with another environmental puzzle. My grow rooms are upstairs, and in This Old House those two small bedrooms never really got much heat through the vents. It's also very poorly if at all insulated. Recently I have gone up and had to turn the AC in the other room off, because when I got home from work at 12:30 a m, it was down to 72, and that was only an hour into the 6 hours lights off. So then I get up in the morning and the lights have already been on for close to 4 hours, with no AC coming from the other room. I had turned it off in order to keep it warmer in this grow room. Well I guess what I'm trying to ask is I'm going to have to supplement heat in there when the lights are off. What is a good heater to use that won't dry out the air too much? I want to consider humidity levels as well as warmth. This room does not have a door on it, so I cannot close it off, the best I can do is hang heavy drapes on a pressure treated rod. And I've also added another twist to the issue and that I have both autos, and photos in veg in there. Any suggestions?

Well I have these guys in cloth pots and they are all up on coasters with wheels so that they have air beneath the pots. So the pots themselves aren't necessarily down on the surface of the table. And I guess I thought that the ambient room temperature had to be certain degrees not just the roots.
@Mr. furly, what is the make of your heater? I didn't quite get your post.

yeah thats because the roots tend to be at room temp, but youre right a pad wont help if theyre raised.

D.A.A.S.69, I live in Northern New England. And I know I'm jumping the gun here but I just want to keep my Temps in the upper 70s. I have very young seedlings, a few girls that are 2 months old, and several in veg waiting for the 12 12 room, and they're all in a wonderful grow room that I've set up it's going to be challenging to keep steady Temps. The earth does not belong to us.
