Transfering/ mainlining

Hi all

I'm 6 weeks into an out door grow and am wanting to main line my plant.
My issue is at the beginning of my grow I had very cloudy days for two weeks which caused my plants to stretch a lot. There would be about 11 inches from the top of the soil to the 3rd node where I want to begin the manifold.

my questions are;

would this distance be an issue when beginning to main line and if so would it be too late to burry the stem deeper into the soil when I re put next?

being an indoor guy take this with a grain of salt.would bury a couple inches deeper then mound up soil on stalk like a top dressing. the 11 inches sounds like a lot but if it physically do'able without hurting a woody plant you should be ok. i answer only cuzz no else has. so come on ppl straighten us both out here.
