    Shorten days to speed harves?

Here's another lighting ? Can autos be given 18 hrs light and 3 hrs dark? Benefit out get 8 days in a seven day week.

Just run them 24-7. No need to turn the lights off on autos.

Exactly. 24/0 and no need to worry about timers or anything else for that matter except electricity

          You like to argue..lol
          Also need nutrients/microbes...

I am not a 24/7 proponent for autos. I believe that the extra money you need to pay for electricity, may well not be paid back to you in yield increase. I have nothing to back this up, just how I feel about it.
        completed 7 grows
what I have learned so far:
        environment maters more than nutrients
at least a dab of nutrients in every watering
effective flushing before harvest is critical to quality

I was a stickler for 18/6 prior to this forum. I've opened my mind to a 24/0 and read a lot of supporting evidence. In conclusion, plants don't need sleep. I don't know that 24/0 will give you better growth but people on here say it does. I'm trying it on my 2 week old babies as we speak...

I will be using 24/0 lighting in veg this time around because it provides me heat control in the winter time, without paying for running a heater. I just want the most bud I can get per kwh that I pay for and I look forward to seeing the results from those that have tried both. The electricity difference is easy to calculate, perhaps the yield will be more difficult to pin down. I will just keep learning

        24/0 sounds good and easy.

I plan on 24/7 for my first auto grow. Why have darkness? Every thing a plant can do at night can be done in the light plus it gets to make its food, something it can't do in the dark

I think the main benefit to running a 20/4 or 18/6 is to save electricity. But for some reason (nothing to back it up) I think the autos need a little rest.

              This is anthropomorphism.

No I was wrong, it's not anthropomorphism, it's bigger than that. To be that, weed would have to be at least a single cell animal. Plants and humans are eukaryotic and there ends the similarity. Plants do not "rest" .
