Cfls and t5s are better for seedlings imo but the same distance is recommended for mh and hps.https://forum.growweedeasy.com/forum...-she-s-a-beast

Sorry Chefbjy but I'm not exactly sure what you're saying here..cfls and HIDs should be the same distance? I heard hps should be further away due to the amount of light and hear factor. Idk for sure tho and thats why I'm asking. And again I know t5, cfl and MH are better for veg. I just don't have the $$ atm to get more t5s. Only 2 of 8 work so I'm just going to do a grow with my 150w hps. Idk. I guess I'm just gonna do my thing and hope it turns out. Hahaha thanks again tho. ☺“Pounds of weed. Sour D. Depends on the wattage for the system. 600 watts can require at least 30-40" before an ideal height is obtained. Saying that, hps does not have sufficient blue for ideal growth and morphology. Thats why it is typically recommended to use fluorescents or LEDs with some amount of blue in them.Written Articles:

Hey thanks DrPhoton. Good info. But again, I do know about blue and red hues and how blue promotes root growth and red promotes "stretch" and bud growth. But my light, it's 150w. My box maintains a consistent day temp of 82 and a night temp of 70+- a few degrees. Right now it's about 18in (roughly) from the light. I just moved it up tonight so we will see how it does. I specialize in photobiology, im not aware of any morphology of blue for root development. Thats a misconception. As long as you are aware thats fine. I have successfully germinated and grown with HPS alone. But i still wouldnt recommend it. As far as finding out what height is the best. You need references from someone who has used that wattage before. Or use light measurements and follow my using light efficiently guide.
