    Timing? Question about breeding autos

    3 girls, one tent?

I'm a total novice, and only 3 weeks into my first grow. It's so exciting, I'm enjoying learning as quickly as I can, and I am grateful for the generous gifting of knowledge within this community. I'm trying to get my head around a breeding system for autos.

Has anybody has tried 3 females in one tent, with staggered planting.
I get that I can't well pollinate a plant to itself. I'm getting my head around using Colloidal Silver, and feminization. I get apprehensive about how difficult it might be to "Harvest 'Feminized' Pollen" and then "Pollinate Another Female Plant".

What keeps dawning on me is wondering what would happen if I start with one feminized-auto. Then, three weeks later, start two more of the same strain, and hope that my oscillating monkey fans will help pollinate the two younger women.

Breeding... I'm trying to think two plants ahead. I'm sure there's many reasons why this would be less effective. Getting schooled about why this is not likely to work will help me get my head around the biology of cannabis I am now learning. Perhaps learning to "Harvest 'Feminized' Pollen" and then "Pollinate Another Female Plant" will be easier than I imagine. Perhaps this post is just newbie mental masturbation, however, I am getting off on thinking through my next phase of growing, which will be a breeding system.

Thank you for your time and considerations.

Hey here welcome to the greatest forum on earth. I think you might be getting a little ahead of yourself. There Is a lot to learn and dominate about to growing first in my opinion. Autos need the right environment to grow how they supposed to. I think once you have all that figured out you could start experimenting some more. But if you don’t provide the right environment you’ll run into a tons of problems not breeding related

Thank you 9, and I'm sure you are right. People have often told me that I am getting ahead of myself.

Last night, I learned that I can't clone autos. So, I was diving into breeding autos. I'm still learning the basics. Only 14 of my original 18 seeds germinated, and only 11 of my 14 plants are thriving. I have a lot to learn.

However, growing is easier than I ever suspected. This community certainly lives it's promise in its name, and is teaching me how to grow weed easy. I hope I don't have a humbling experience before harvest.

dont you worry im sure theyll do fine, its hard to fuck them up real bad, its easy to keep them alive, its hard to give every strain/pheno exactly what it needs and nothing more or less, thats what were all learning over here, feel free to keep asking and imagining we all are (: i would like to breed too in the future if i had the space and genetics, maybe isomeday. theres an enormous different between breeding and just crossing strains

Thank you. I appreciate your encouragement, and welcoming spirit.

I just want to be self-reliant, be able to create my own seeds. After I find the exact strain I like, I want to be able to create my own seeds. Mixing genetics is not my game. I respect their work. I want homogenous plants, so I can learn that strain. I'm sure I can figure out how to "Harvest 'Feminized' Pollen" and then "Pollinate Another Female Plant".

I do wonder if the staggered planting will work, in conjunction with the Colloidal Silver, to pollinate and get seeds. I may try it, just to learn. Perhaps post the experiment as a grow diary with 3 Shortstuff Himalaya Blue Diesel auto feminized seeds I have.

I have abundant time on my hands, and a 2nd, much smaller grow tent, that I bought with the intention of using with non-auto-flowering seeds. However, I'm much more interested in auto-flowering presently. And, if I can get the Himalaya Blue Diesel to seed, then, I can experiment with nutrients to bring out their most brilliant colors.

Presently, I'm just using the Fox Farms trio on everything, and a wide variety of plants, many of which I don't even know what they are because of the Buddha mix.

I'm having fun, and learning, and that's great for me.
