Hi folks. First Post on here and just about to set up my first grow in many years. I was thinking of using a 70/30 coco clay pebble mix. My local hydro shop mixes their own. Has anyone ever used such a thing and is it any good?

I would assume its purely for aeration, just wasn't sure if it was a well known thing or not as I've not grown for a few years now. I'm gonna be growing in felt pots anyway so will prob stay away from it I think. Thanks for reply

DankVeda, 70coco-30perlite, will do just fine, felt pots are what the Dr.ordered, lol
I bet you haven't forgot much, and I'm sure that you will do a great job.
I done got so old I grow in living-super type soil, dug up Ms.River Delta soil, lol, with about 30-40percent perlite added, and all I use is water an Recharge, every now an then. Sure makes it alot easier for me, I'm thru with that watering-feeding 2-3 times a day, to much work for me, but lots of folks do good with that coco. I know you can grow some big plants in small pots using coco, though, just to much work for me.
Love your Avatar, reminds me of an old Hendrix album cover,
Good Luck with your grow, and welcome to GWE, lots of nice people on here that are always willing to help. But I doubt you need any help, MJ, grows just like it has always grown. Autoflowers would be a good choice though, to get you back in the game quickly.
Some go from seed to harvest in less than 70days, some a little longer.
Ps, sorry for the long post, we got a good buzz going this morning.

Yeah I'll stick with the perlite I'd just never seen the pebbles before and wondered if it was popular (obviously isn't lol) I have been reading up about auto's too,and agree its prob best way to get back into it. Just need to measure up and start building grow room now, hopefully it'll be all done by next week. Having 3yr old twins and multiple sclerosis tho i never run to schedules lol. I was listening to "bold as love" when I picked avatar lol

Congratulations on the twins, hate to hear about the MS, I know what you mean about schedules, almost impossible.
That makes autoflowers the best choice cause you don't need any certain schedules, you just try to keep as much light on them as you can.
I agree Axis Bold As Love, is one of my all-time favorite lps. Have a nice weekend. DV.
