    DWC flush time

My harvest is approaching. Due to hectic schedules we only have s specific time we will be able to harvest. This also means our day to flush is scheduled accordingly. Is 2 full days long enough for a flush in DWC?

I would personally do at least a week but this is a good question. How do you flush? Plain water or a cleanser?

Every source I've come across suggest if growing hydro, then you don't need to flush any longer than a few days. I'll be using plain pH'd RO water.

          That is a rinse not a flush/stripper

Go to thread just before this one..

Nomenclature, I call it flush, you call it rinse.

I could be wrong. Im kinda new so i could be misinformed. If you are seeing that you will only need a few days for hydro flush then you are probably right. I just saw a thread that combined with this is making me think i have been starving my plants...which would explain why i havent been crazy impressed with my bud sizes. I thought they needed more light but maybe they needed more food Karlee Might have more insight as it seems she(?) has more experience with DWC.

So how do you do a proper flush? Even GWE says defines a flush as giving plain pH'd water the last week before harvest.

            Hi Pankace

I do at least a week of just plain ph'd water in the tub. My chart I go by shows 2 weeks of flushing and I went 1 1/2 and it was good.

My last DWC run, (GDP and GG#4) I flushed for 3 full days. The time before was a 7 day flush. Both were fine.

I think you'll be fine with a 2 day flush. There are flushing agents that help clean out the system but I don't think it's necessary. Up to you.

I suggest you flush your system with plain ph water. Let that pull some nutes out, measure your PPM and flush again. Let it sit, measure PPM. Rinse and repeat until you're in acceptable levels.

And so what happens when you miss your flush / rinse and have to harvest?

                You still get good weed...!!!

It's our pickyness and man's nature to make everything perfect is why cureing has taken place and trying to flush and rinse and whatever else you want to add in there...all the weed for money out there....do you think it's flushed or rinsed or cured....some sure...but majority nope...

This has been my experience as well. I think most would fail a Pepsi challenge with flushed and unflushed cannabis.

That's the debate. Will the buds be harsh and bitter or smooth and tasty....

For me, more empirical evidence is needed. All the data seems to be anecdotal.

Wait so curing is a myth too? I dont know what to believe anymore!!! Well i've been curing my small Master Kush harvest for the past week and a half so i guess i will have to do my own investigating on this next harvest.

No cureing is not a myth I'm just saying what we as humans do try to always perfect something

Not a myth, curing does improve the smell considerably in my experience. There is chemical reactions occurring via aerobic bacteria breaking down chlorophyll. How this effects your end product is somewhat debatable but it does improve, even if minimally.

For Sativas I am personally convinced curing makes a more pleasant ride removing racing thoughts. I am for total cure but I have missed some flushing as in today.
