    First coco grow

    Afternoon everyone,

Attempting my first grow in coco, my second grow overall. First grow was under LED but I decided for coco I would upgrade tent size and buy a 315 CMH light. What a difference I must say. I’m sure the new light combined with coco is giving me the results that I’m getting. I didn’t have this type of growth this fast under my LED in soil.

Just finished transplanting the last of the plants today. It went well except I lost a plant. My 00 seeds bubblegum was leaning real bad and I forgot to water the plant before trying to get it out of the cup, heard a snap and had a dead plant on my hands. Frustrating but can’t blame anyone except myself.

About half of these plants are 21 days old from spout, some are 17 and one is 14.

Decided not to do any training to this guys. Wanted to just let the plants do their thing and see what happens. Also didn’t except to have so many plants at once but rapid rooters came through and only 2 didn’t sprout, both from RQS. Freebies from Seedsman orders though.

    Current plants are:
dutch passion - Charlotte angel x2
fast buds - Girl Scout and tangie
    advanded seeds - skunk
sweet seeds - dark devil auto
    female seeds - speed bud

Campesino Shoutout to you. Have been following your guide the best I can. Watering everyday, bought the same EC meter, following your nute schedule. I found that with the water out of my tap I follow the guide at around 80-90% and it gets me in the EC range that you suggest.

    Thanks

    Looking Great!

You are doing really well and it is clear that the plants are healthy and loving your TLC. Vigorous growth! You should be proud of those big girls only 21 days old!

A couple notes about my nute schedule. My EC/PPM values are pretty low. I adjusted down initially, which is reflected in the schedule. The baseline to start your own adjustments is about 50-100 points EC higher than reflected there. Watch your plants and their run-off and set your own EC targets based on the factors I described in the guide (temp, frequency, RH, etc). You can run the numbers I have written there with no risk, but you can probably run a little higher than that.
Also, SM-90 is not in my nute schedule, but I recommend it at 2.5ml/gal. It won't affect EC, but will raise pH.

Happy for you and happy to follow along!

One of the bigger ones in the back row spouted only May 31. Only 16 days ago! Growth has been fantastic.

A question I did have though, I mixed my nutes aiming to get 1115 EC but only got like 1020 EC. What would be the best way to bring it up? Week one the mix was very very high so I just kept adding water till I got till what I needed.

Also side note, week two I premixed for a week and just stir it up and watered every day. Think it threw the PH way off and one leaf on two plants look like they had a little Ph issue. Adjusted now so the water never sits more than 3 days.

When the EC comes in too low it is best to mix a second gallon stronger (in the base nutes) and then blend the two gallons together. This keeps the ratios correct and prevents potential issues with lockout.
You can premix nutes, but should verify pH before applying (or at least daily in a Res). Once you figure it out you can almost add the amount of pH down you need to the recipe. You will need pH down if using both Armor SI and SM-90. Always shake up the water before applying to help oxygenate it as well as mix it.

Yes, fantastic growth! Enjoy the ride
