If I've been vegging for a month using 24-hour lighting will I be okay with one night no light!? Right now...3 hrs, i feeI like I should be turning them back on to let my plants grow bigger? I've been researching too much and it's just baffling my brain not knowing what to do exactly...

Plants double if not triple in size once you initiate a 12/12 light cycle. I'd reduce the hours to 20/4 for a few days 18/6 the next week then 12/12 few days later imo. Depending on strain height and amount of stretch you can do 12/12 once they get up to 12-14 inches tall. I flipped my clones to 12/12 at 14 inches and they grew to be 4 foot.https://forum.growweedeasy.com/forum...-she-s-a-beast

Chefbjy, I don't know why he keeps posing the same thing, I know I've answered him 2-3 times already, that's it for me.
I know he might be nervous, but damn.

Right!? I even wrote him a dam mathematical equation that would give him a solid answer! Waste my time that one! 😂😂😂 don’t stress bro!

I hear you. I understand that you want your plants to grow as fast as possible, as every grower do, as do I. The first couple of years I also ran the lights 24/7 in veg. Believing it would make my plants grow as fast they could. The thing is though, you are just wasting electricity! After many tries and attempts I figured my plants grow just as good, and sometimes even faster running the lights at 18/6.
I haven't figured out why this is, but one explanation is; plants too need their rest. I believe running the lights at 24/7 could be unnecessary stressful for plants.
My tip for you is, try and run 18/6 for a week and see if it helps.

Lesson learned! I've got an hour and a half until the 12 hour marker of Darkness do you think I should go the full 24 like I've been reading before flowering?
-
Hey 123, if you want them to get larger, they need more light, whatever light schedule you decide. will be fine, 18-6, 20-4. ,24-0.

These other guys are letting me have it for too many posts when I try to reply to them I don't see comment all's I see is flag plus I wanted to explain I have a brain injury with a caseworker that usually helps me with stuff like this maybe you could tell them for me cuz you seem pretty decent and I surely don't mean to be making them angry when he said don't waste your time!? I really appreciate the help... saved me so far , this forum alone

Hybrids seldom stretch 100%, and Indica dominant, and pure Indica strains put on about 30-50%.. Of course some phenos go outside these frames..

Yes the plants do change modes in the dark. You can easily tell something is different just by smell. Every night when my lights go off the plants go from smelling like weed to smelling like green bannans. The change and smell is strong enough within 5 minutes to smell it in another room if you dont have your filter connected. I dont run my vent fans at night when the lights are off until the plants start having a strong smell, but my wife loves the green bananas smell.
I am not sure what exactly changes or happens during the dark period but they seem to run into fewer problems when they have that rest period. They even seem to be able to use more nutrients. I only run a 4 hour dark period. I have tried 24 hour/ 18 hour and 20 hour light periods and for me the 20 hour seems to work best.

Please only make one post per topic. With 2 posts about the same thing those trying to help cant see what others have answered. It makes it much harder to answer properly. I dont mind answering any question or trying to explain why a question was answered in a particular way.
Also i know that you are having a hard time making decisions about your grow due to the wide variation in answers. Unfortunatly when growing plants of any kind there are 100s of different ways to do things. They can all work. What works well for 1 may not work for the other. So you just have to read all the advice and choose one way and try it. If you dont like it or it doesnt work well for you try a different method. Just keep trying things until you find the best way for you. I change things every single time i grow a plant, any plant. And ive been growing every type of vegetable, tree, fruit etc for almost 50 years now. Changing things keeps me interested and excited every time I grow any plant. So that being said just pick a path, take it, and see how it works for you.

Hey 123, you don't have to have any certain time to switch to 12-12, day or night does not matter .
when they are big enough, switch the light to 12-12. ,
Forget about the dark period. So if you go in there and look at them, and they are tall enough, switch the light, does not matter if it's day or night. If you think they are big enough switch the light to 12-12, but also know, that after you switch to 12-12, that they will double in size, or larger.
If you want smaller plants switch to 12-12 sooner, before they get to tall.
That's the best I can do, day or night does not matter, you flip the switch whenever they are the size you want, knowing that they will double in size, after you switch to 12-12.
Say you wake up and the light has been on 24hours a day for a month, and you go look at them and say ,damn they are big, set your timer for 12hours on, and 12 hours off, right then if you want too.
Darkness has nothin to do when to switch to 12-12, you switch to 12-12 whenever that they are large enough ,period, regardless if it's day or night. You go by the size of the plant.
Sorry, for not helping sooner, I've been at the Hospital all evening.
But I'm terribly sorry, to hear about your condition. And good luck with it.
But Nebula answers all these questions in her tutorials, And she is a hellava lot better, at describing how to do things than I am. So I would read her tutorials, in your spare time, and you always got help here on the forum, But expect, many different answers.

Firsttimer sorry to hear about your injury. If you thought i was mad Im sorry. Didnt mean to sound that way. Just easier to see what has been said in one post. I was honestly trying to be helpful not sound mad.
I think the dark period your talking about is meant for when your plants are ready to harvest. Many people give them a 24 hour dark period and cut them down at the end of the 24 hour dark period. Like DASS said just flip to 12/12 at any time.

I understand, n again I'm sorry .theyve already been through the 24 hours of Darkness. I turn them on last night at 8 p.m. And again this morning off at 8 a.m. came home from appointment with little green neon light I have built into my lighter, and very little light from my window was shining in to the bottom of the window sill towards the floor... If only it was the other way around and it was aiming up, but 3 hours of little light...hermies right? That's what I have to keep an eye on now I guess how soon before Id know? Ty
-
No they wont produce hermies yet. They dont do that until after the flip has already been going for awhile. Just make sure once you switch to 12/12 they get no light.

Ty guys, that's reassuring to hear. I know...I Kno... I'm trying to get there but the last thing I (Really) need is a dehumidifier... cuz it's sitting at 65% in there right now ! I I know that's the only reason why I'm having such a hard time combating this p.m., Everything else is good! That p.m. is really messing me up though when it comes to feeding.. I scrubbed the room took everything out and used hydrogen peroxide in milk n water which worked...until the humidity starts climbing quick when lights go out, made a makeshift de humidifier with two 5 gallon buckets and rock salt? Nothing yet...no change that is. I'm going to have to order it off Amazon the dehumidifier ...all local stores are sold out!

I finally had to get a dehumidifier. But my humidity was 77% in the tent. With the dehumidifier my humidity is sitting at 51%.
Get a dehumidifier as soon as you can since it is so humid where you live. But in the mean time just make sure you have fans blowing over and under every plant. The plants should look like they have a light breeze blowing on them without the fan directly hitting the main part of the plant. In my 4x4 tents I have 2 clip on fans blowing over the top of the plants, one fan in the middle of the plants blowing straight up, and in the corner i have a fan that rotates blowing under all the plants.
In the basement I also have a huge shop fan and during the day for a few hours ill open all the tents doors and tent windows and turn the shop fan on high for a couple of hours. All this may be overkill but you should see the stalks on my plants.
