Adding 2nd LED during flower

Hey all, I'm on day 37 of flower with my Alien Rift/Shark Shock CBD coco grow and felt that my 450par viparspectra wasn't giving the girls enough juice. I purchased another viparspectra 450 dimmable/timer LED which is arriving today, and hopefully will help plump up the buds in the remaining 3-4 weeks.

My question: how would you introduce a 2nd light during the sensitive flower phase? Luckily they are both 450watt (210 draw) and dimmable, so I'm planning on setting them at 50% for a day, 75% then full blast depending on their response. It's worth noting that the Shark Shock put off pollen sacs on 2 nodes last week, which were on branches that were too close to the light (picked them carefully and moved light up to 15"). So I need the extra light but worry about stressing them. ..

I use 2 of those same lights during flowering in a 2x4. As long as you have them far enough away you have no need to worry about stressing them. Id start at 100%. If worried start at 18 inches away and see how they like it.

Do you have an exaust fan? If not its going to get hot in there. If not then put 2 fans above the plants, 2 fans below the plants, and open all vents while the lights are on. Use that until you can get an exaust fan installed. Close all the vents when the lights go off if there is any chance of light leaks.

With 2 lights you will get much denser buds and more than double the yield if everything else is done right. This is from personal exp. Had 2 grows in a 2x4 with 1 light. Then switched to 2 lights in a 2x4. Same strain of plant and everything else was the same. Was definitely worth adding that extra light.

Thanks, glad to hear if the increased yield, although I'm halfway through flower at this point, not sure how much it'll help (should've just got the light at start of grow!l

Yeah, i have a pretty powerful exhaust fan (for my 3x3) pulling thru my filter, so not worried about heat. Height on the other hand. .. the Shark stretched quite a bit and my existing light is almost as high as it can go. I'll make it happen though. Thanks Red!

Even though your flowering is halfway you will still get a pretty decent increase. Even if it is during the last 2 or 3 weeks only.

just so you know id probably still just use the 1 for the veg phase as long as the plants on the outside edges grow well. Just turn your plants daily. You can use both and may get a bit faster growth but just wasting money in my opinion.
