    DWC root care

I recently completed my second DWC grow. In this grow I decided to use the full advanced nutrients lineup just out of curiosity. I do think I'll tone it back next grow to probably 1/3 of the extras considering how expensive it all was. One impact I did see from these added nutrients was that my root mass was easily 3 times thicker than without the extras. Was quite impressive. It almost filled my entire 12gal tote res. An additional change I made was using 2 eco air pumps with 4 large airstones instead of just 1 with 2 stones from my previous grow. So finally here comes the questions... 1. Considering how thick the root system was are these stones providing enough air bubbles? Should the bubbles be penetrating the roots and should I use a stronger pump? 2. I noticed after harvesting and clearing out my reservoir that even after flushing my roots had retained a large amount of nutrient water which was quite dark which was surprising considering the flush. Is there a way to "rinse" roots during the grow. Should I rinse them? Would this have any positive effect? Or am I just over thinking and over complicating?

Also just a tack on. Has anyone used an oxygen emitter instead of airstones?

I'm not familiar with an 'oxygen emitter', just sounds like a high priced version of an air stone to Me. If the roots are growing that well, You must be doing something right. I usually have to replace the air stones (about half way thru the growing cycle) when they get 'root bound'. I just cut the air line and attach new stones to them. I did too much damage to the roots trying to get the old stones out.
