Here you can see how much they have grown,, and one of the girls now has 8 colas/stems and im just waiting for them to grow out to the edge of the pot before i let them go up in the final configuration, the beauty of this grow is the all the tops of the plant will be the same distance from the light and the same distance from the root ball so every stem gets the same nutes.

More pics of my best plant so far. I have 4 MLs but as you know, no two plants grow the same even if its the same seed,, so in my case i have one girl thats doing better at ML than the others at this time. In this pic i have removed all side sun leaves so they wont be taking any energy from the mains. I will do this again when the stems reach the sides, si there will be no growth other than the main stems.

Im sure with a little practice and patience you or anyone can do just as well. Im not anything special at this. But thanks anyway.
after the first cut, i let the two new stems grow a bit, but then i made the next cut at the point of the very next node. In other words there are no nodes between the first, second and third cuts. This keeps the plant short and bushy. Im also a firm believer in defoliation,, when a plant has too many leaves blocking the buds from the light. The plant will respond by making more leaves. Hope this answers you question.A man believes what a man desires to be true.

Right now the plants are still in the training phase and are almost to the edge of the pots where they will start to grow upward..
Once that happens, they will really tak off because all this time they have been trained, the root ball has been building and will be able to supply the new growth with all the nutes they can use. I know its a long process but if you have the time to do it the rewards are worth it, not only that, its a fun project.
This is the tent right now.2 PhotosA man believes what a man desires to be true.

The only complaint I have about the technique is the size the colas can get. If you run a strain like blue dream, if you can't drop the humidity you can run into bud rot problems.
I'm poor and can't afford a dehumidifier right now, so I run smaller colas.. about 25-30 per plant. Can't seem to get the humidity below 50%....Team AutoMechanics

Do you eventually remove those bent wire pieces that are holding the branches in place, and if you do at what point?

im thinking of adding a ring of wire around the edge of the pot so i have something solid to tie the stems to. I use to just poke a hole in the side of the pot and run a piece of wire through the hole and around the stem, but im thinking the wire around the edge would be better to secure the stem to.

Here they are today
The autos (front) are doing very well even though they have been over fed in the past.. But im only giving water until they eat up all the extra nutes. So hopefully they will go back to growing. (Over feeding can and will cause stunting and slow growth) they are 22 days old today and should start flowering soon. Most of the MLs are at the 8 cola stage. One will be left to only 4 and one only has 7 colas. The one that was not MLed, but just topped 3 times has 8 colas but wont be spread out like the MLs and will be more bushy.
